Description
A blazer cut from ivory lace — tailored shape, unexpected fabric. It solves the problem of the over-air-conditioned restaurant in July: you want a jacket, you do not want to look like you brought a jacket to Florida in summer.
Fabric & feel
42% cotton, 33% viscose, 24% polyamide, made in Italy by Imperial. The cotton keeps it breathable, the viscose softens the hand, and the polyamide is what gives the lace enough backbone to hold a lapel and a shoulder line. Worked in a dense floral repeat, so it reads as a textured jacket from a distance rather than as lingerie.
Fit & sizing
A single-button blazer with notched lapels and a shaped waist, finishing at the hip. It is cut to close but works open, which is how most people will wear it. Sleeves are full length. Convert Italian sizing with the fit and sizing guide.
How to wear it
Photographed over ivory with cream trousers, which is the tonal version and the most flattering one. Because the lace is open, whatever is underneath shows through — keep it plain and either matching or clearly contrasting, not busy. It also works over a slip dress for a wedding. Also in mint green and light blue.
Care
Delicate wash, cold, in a mesh bag — lace catches on anything with a hook. Dry flat, reshaping the shoulders and lapels while damp; hanging it wet will drop the shoulder line. No dryer. Steam rather than press, and if you must iron, do it on low through a cloth and never directly on the lace.
