Black Maxi Evening Dress with Shoulder Bow
Description
A floor-length black dress with one shoulder gathered into a sculpted bow and a slit cut high on the front leg. Everything else is deliberately plain — no beading, no lace, no print — so the bow and the slit are the only two things the eye has to do.
Fabric & feel
96% polyester, 4% elastane, made in Italy by Rinascimento. A dense matte crepe with just enough elastane to follow the body without gripping it, and no sheen at all, which is what keeps a long black column from flattening out under warm indoor light. Heavy enough to hang straight from the hip rather than clinging.
Fit & sizing
Sleeveless and close through the bodice and hip, with the bow built into one shoulder seam. The slit sits high; the hem is cut for a heel. If you are between sizes the crepe has a little give, but the shoulder detail is structured, so take your true bust measurement rather than sizing up. How to wear it
This is a black-tie dress — a Sarasota gala, a formal wedding, New Year. The shoulder detail takes the place of a necklace, so wear earrings and nothing at the throat. Care
Delicate wash, cold, or dry clean if you would rather protect the shoulder structure. Steam from the inside to release creases and keep the iron away from the bow — pressing it flat is the one thing that would spoil the dress. Hang on a padded hanger; fold for long storage so the hem does not drag.
