Silky Damask Print Camisole
A fine-strap camisole in a silky viscose, printed with a blue-grey damask that reads almost like faded toile from a distance. Cut to be worn on its own in the heat or as the layer under something open — a lace cardigan, a linen shirt, a blazer.
Fabric & feel
100% viscose, made in Italy by Kontatto. Viscose is what gives it the slip and the cool hand — it hangs away from the body rather than clinging, and it does not hold heat. The finish has a soft lustre rather than a high shine. For the difference between a silky viscose and actual silk, see our satin vs silk guide.
Fit & sizing
Available in S, M and L. Straight through the body with a scooped front and back and narrow set straps. It skims rather than fits, and finishes at the hip so it tucks or sits out equally well. Convert Italian sizing with the fit and sizing guide.
How to wear it
Photographed with dark wide-leg denim, which is the version that does the most with the least. The print is busy enough that everything else should be plain — white trousers in August, black tailoring for evening. It also does the job under an open lace or linen layer where a plain cami would look like underwear. More on the tops rail.
Care
Delicate wash, cold. Viscose weakens when wet, so lift it out rather than wringing, reshape and dry flat in the shade — direct Florida sun will fade a print like this one. No dryer. Steam or press on low from the reverse; a hot iron on the front will flatten the lustre.
