Olive Eco-Leather Maxi Skirt
A maxi skirt in olive eco-leather with a slit at the front — the length of a formal skirt with the surface of a jacket. Olive is what makes it wearable rather than severe: the same shape in black would read as evening only.
Fabric & feel
100% polyurethane, made in Italy by Barbara Alvisi. This is eco-leather rather than hide — a coated synthetic, which is worth saying plainly. In practice it means a matte, slightly grained surface that keeps its shape, does not need conditioning, and will not stretch out at the hip the way a soft skin does. It also has no give, so the fit comes entirely from the cut.
Fit & sizing
Sits at the natural waist and falls straight to the ankle, with the slit set at the front for walking. Because there is no stretch in the fabric, take your true waist measurement rather than sizing down. Convert Italian sizing with the fit and sizing guide.
How to wear it
Photographed with a plain black long-sleeve top, which is the version that lets the surface do the work. Olive takes black, cream, camel and chocolate on top. Keep the shoe pointed and low; a chunky boot fights the length. More from the label on the Barbara Alvisi collection page, and the rest of the skirts.
Care
Delicate wash, cold, per the label, and never tumble dry — heat is what cracks a coated finish. Wipe marks off with a barely damp cloth rather than soaking the whole skirt. No ironing at all; hang it to let creases drop out, and store it hanging so nothing presses a fold into the coating.
