Description
A sleeveless top in narrow red and white stripes — the one Barbara Alvisi piece that costs the least and gets worn the most. It is the plain thing you build an outfit on, and the stripe means it never reads as plain.
Fabric & feel
95% viscose, 5% elastane, made in Italy. The viscose gives it a cool, fluid hand — it drapes instead of holding a shape — and the 5% elastane is what keeps the neckline and armholes from gaping after a wash. The stripe is woven into the jersey rather than printed on it, so it will not crack or fade off the surface.
Fit & sizing
Cut close through the body, sleeveless, with a plain round neck and narrow shoulders. It finishes at the hip and tucks flat under a waistband. Italian sizing converts through the fit and sizing guide.
How to wear it
Photographed with dark wide-leg denim, which is where a red stripe belongs. It also works under a blazer for work, or with white trousers for the most obviously coastal version. Care
Delicate wash, cold, and wash it with like colours the first couple of times — a strong red on white is worth that caution. Dry flat rather than hanging; viscose stretches when wet. No dryer. Steam or press on low from the reverse.
